Skin Care Routine with Tips for Sunburned Face!! 🏊

Hello, my beautiful friends! I don't know about you but I have been taking full advantage of Mr. Sun this summer. I have been outside a lot and unconsciously exposing my face and body to the sun. Don't get me wrong I LOVE a good tan, but I do not want to damage my skin, especially the skin on my face. During the whole year, I have a skin care routine that I stick to and have been sticking to that keeps my face as clear as possible. This blog will be about what I do to take care of my face as well as a few things I add for the summertime sun.

**Something to remember while reading this blog is my skin tone. I have extremely oily skin in my t-zone (your t-zone is your forehead, down your nose and your chin area). I would consider my cheeks to be normal to dry. Anywhere that I experience sunburn on my face is always extremely dry so I have to avoid over moisturizing my t-zone but put enough on the areas that are sunburned. I burn on the corners of my forehead, a little on my nose and the highest part of my cheeks. You want to be sure that you know your skin type as well as where your sunburn is if you have any.

Now let's jump into the steps of the night routine:

1. REMOVE MAKEUP: some day's I skip this step entirely because I personally do not wear makeup every day but if I do I NEVER sleep in my makeup. That is extremely bad for the health of the skin on your face. I use sensitive baby wipes and begin by removing my mascara and lipstick as these are the hardest to remove. (During all these steps do not apply too much pressure, remember to be gentle.) Next, I continue using a baby wipe and remove all the makeup on my face. After that, I use Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water. I use the waterproof version with a cotton round to just go over my eyes and lips to get any makeup I may have missed.

2.CLEANS/ EXFOLIATE:  Since I have such oily skin I use any cleanser that bubbles up and gets really foamy. I really enjoy clean and clear most of the time. I use a rotating face brush to cleanse majority of the time that I wear makeup and I exfoliate with an apricot scrub about two or three times a week. If I was bare faced for the day I just clean with my hands. When you have sunburn on your face it is important to exfoliate two or three times a week to safely remove the peeling skin. After cleansing PAT DONT RUB your face dry.

3. TONE: I put my favorite toner, again by clean and clear, in a misty spray bottle to spray on my face. It makes it a lot easier. While the toner is drying on my face I apply some Blistex chapstick.

4. MOISTURIZE: One thing most people don't know is that whatever skin type you have it is important to moisturize. Just look for moisturizers for your skin. Before I apply moisturizer I add some aloe vera gel to the sunburned areas of my face and let that dry. I use the Estee Lauder night time serum all over my face. Then I apply some ponds moisturizer on the areas that are burnt.  Some nights if I notice the bags under my eye are more dark then usual I will apply a general eye cream to my eye lids and under eye area.

  Now for the morning:
1. WIPE OR CLEANSE: depending on how my face feels in the morning I will either re- wash it with a cleanser with just my hands or just wipe it with a baby wipe.

2. TONE: again I spray toner and let that dry and apply chapstick.

3. MOISTURIZE: when I have sunburn I use more aloe vera gel before applying moisturizer. I use a lightweight moisturizer that has lots of SPF in it.

That is my skincare routine. I hope I was able to help!!I hope you all enjoyed this week's blog post. Thank you for taking the time out to read it. Don't forget we can always chat in the comments.
